Getting There

The HideOut
43300 Hwy 88
Kirkwood CA 95646

The HideOut is about a 3.5 hour drive from San Francisco, up into the gorgeous Sierra Nevada mountains. We encourage our guests who are able to take the time off to spend the days before or after camping near the area or enjoying Tahoe. Turn this into a vacation!

If you are flying in from out of state, the Sacramento airport would be the easiest and closest option. Sacramento International Airport (SMF) is serviced by many airlines and many rental car companies.

Getting To The HideOut from Sacramento

Take Hwy 50 towards Placerville. Go about 15 minutes past Placerville on Hwy 50, into Pollack Pines. Take Sly Park Exit. At the stop sign, turn right and go to Sly Park Reservoir. When you see Jenkinson Lake, turn left onto Mormon Emigrant Trail. A beautiful 28 mile drive on Mormon Emigrant Trail will take you to Hwy 88.

At Hwy 88, turn right (towards Jackson) and go 1 1/2 miles. There will be a sign indicating The HideOut; Turn left onto a paved driveway with a vertical address post, 43300.

Now for the fun part! After turning off Hwy 88, you will travel a gravel road for 1 1/2 miles. If you have the option to take or carpool in an SUV or AWD vehicle, do it! There will be signs helping you along the way.

When you see the lake, turn right and go up over Pucker Butt Hill. This one is a doozy; but if Niki's Saturn can make it, then your car can, too! At the top, it takes a very sharp, almost blind, right turn. Head down the other side towards the meadow. There will be parking attendants or signs pointing you to the meadow where you will park.
