Everyone should bring a swim suit, towel, sunglasses, bug spray, sunscreen, head lamp/flashlight (there will be no moon), and very warm layers for evening festivities. Plan on very warm days and chilly nights.
If you are camping or staying in the area, please bring some favorite snacks and lunch fixings. We will be providing the Monday BBQ, Reception Dinner, and Wednesday Brunch, but everything else will be very casual. We will have some very basic sandwich fixings and snacks at The HideOut, but folks should pack their own cooler to supplement. Guests are welcome to use the Lodge's kitchen and the Saloon's kitchen to prepare extra meals, but please don't count on storage space.
If you play an instrument, please bring it!
If you are a smoker, please bring a portable ashtray (Altoids tins work wonderfully). Smoking is not allowed near the lodge, ceremony, hot tub, saloon, or reception area- please move away from crowds when smoking.
If you absolutely cannot make arrangements to board your dog, please let us know.
Because the HideOut is a fairly rustic setting, comfort is a priority. Wear something that makes you feel fabulous! Heels are definitely not recommended, but if you must (that's you, Emyay), please bring backup flats. The bride will probably be in boots!
The names included on your invitation are the invited guests. Due to size constraints at The HideOut, we have to limit our guest list. We understand things may change, for you and for us, in the months before our Big Day, and will cross that bridge when we get to it. Thank you for understanding.
Tom and BJ, the owners of the HideOut, have Wifi hooked up around the saloon and lodge, but because of the remote location and number of guests trying to access it, we cannot guarantee it. You might get lucky with one bar of cell service, but otherwise there is none. Emergency calls can be made on a landline.
In lieu of gifts, we would so appreciate your time and love. We, like many of our guests, spent weeks in the dust at Burning Man, where participation is practically mandatory. If you would like to join our Cast & Crew and help us throw this party, indicate so in your RSVP. We have specific areas where your talents can shine and your contribution will be the most valuable.
If you are unable to participate in this way, please join us in creating a Leave No Trace event. It only requires that you help us leave The HideOut in better condition than we found it.
No, but we would greatly appreciate a donation in our name to a charity like Doctors Without Borders or Oxfam.
